Sea Clearly® Hydrating Facial SPF 35 + Growth Factor Sunscreen Clear Gel/Primer

I have been a huge fan of all Sonrei products. It is the only sunscreen that doesn’t make me breakout or leave my skin feel dry yet greasy. I just purchased the new hydrating facial spf 35 and it is nothing short of amazing! It goes on feeling so smooth and really does have that incredible primer like texture. I have dry skin but large pores and i love using it under my makeup. I’ve received several compliments since using it and people keep asking me if I’ve just had a facial. As a former esthetician, there is no better compliment! I have some light hyperpigmentation from being a teen sun worshiper, and I’m already noticing it lightening!

I'm glad I asked because this is a very different sunscreen from the many I've tried, and I really like it. As stated, it's a clear gel that feels almost like an oil but silky when you apply it. A little goes a long way. It doesn't feel oily on the skin. It feels more like a moisturizer. The scent is beachy but very light. You obviously don't have to worry about white cast with this. It pricey at $80, but facial SPFs often are and this is a bigger volume than many others I've ordered. It looks nice and comes in a sealed cardboard tube. I like that it's refillable. If you can afford it, I do recommend trying this sunscreen.

The hydration aspect of this sunscreen was particularly impressive. Unlike many other sunscreens that can leave my skin feeling dry, Sonrei's formula seemed to infuse my skin with moisture.

I also appreciated the inclusion of antioxidant-rich ingredients. While I can't speak to its long-term effects on hyperpigmentation or fine lines just yet, the added benefits contribute to the overall appeal of the product.

While it's not overpowering, there is a faint scent that may not be to everyone's liking. Personally, I prefer my skincare products to be fragrance-free or have a subtle scent, so this was a minor drawback for me.

Overall, Sonrei Sea Clearly Hydrating Facial SPF 35 is a luxury sunscreen that delivers. Its lightweight, non-greasy formula is amazing for daily wear, but it's pricey. If you're looking to splurge, I'd recommend it.

First, the packaging was carefully and thoughtfully done. The product was wrapped in bubble wrap. It has its own "case" which matches the product (thought that was cool and fun).

It leaves a really nice matte finish after application. It is also water resistant which is great for swimmers. In general, I am not a fan of clear sunscreen because I cannot see whether I have applied on certain spots of my skin (lol). Don't get me wrong, this sunscreen is great, but I would only use it if I'm in a hurry and don't want to blend out the white residue that would only appear when using the traditional sunscreen. I don't wear makeup but have used primer before, and so, I can already tell this sunscreen can be a perfect primer (with SPF 35, which is a plus). Talking about the SPF, I usually go for SPF 50, but after a few research, SPF 35 and SPF 50 don't have much difference in the % of UBV rays protection. Therefore, I am fine with this sunscreen being SPF 35.

Lastly, the price is a bit high. I suppose the price was determined based on the transparency of the sunscreen, the ingredients they use to produce the sunscreen which are environmentally friendly and also help rejuvenate the skin, and the fact that it can also be used as a primer. Honestly, I did not know about this brand before getting this sunscreen. I'd say it is worth a try (if money is not a problem lol).
